How does the Invisalign device work?
After scanning the patient’s mouth with a 3D scanner, 3D computerized images of their complete treatment plan are displayed based on a prescription, from the initial position of their teeth to the desired final position.
A series of custom transparent aligners are then designed for their teeth, in order to move them gradually during the periods specified in the planning.
The Invisalign aligners move the teeth through a series of carefully controlled movements.
Unlike traditional devices, the Invisalign treatment not only controls the amount of movement that each aligner causes, but also controls the timing of when the movement occurs.
In this way, only certain teeth can move at each stage, according to the Invisalign treatment plan for that specific phase. This results in an efficient force application system.
What are the main benefits of Invisalign?
Some of the primary benefits of using Invisalign include:
- Discretion: Since Invisalign is made of a transparent material, it’s very discreet and isn’t easily noticeable when worn. This can be an advantage for those who don’t wish to wear visible orthodontic devices.
- Comfort: Invisalign is made from a soft and comfortable material, which may be more pleasant than other types of orthodontic devices.
- Convenience: Invisalign is easy to use, as it’s simply placed on the teeth and can be removed for eating and brushing the teeth. This can be more convenient than other types of orthodontic devices that need to be fastened with wires or bands.
- Efficacy: Invisalign is effective in correcting dental alignment issues and improving the appearance of teeth. It can be used to address a wide range of orthodontic problems.
- Durability: Invisalign is made of a durable material and should last a long period of time if used correctly.
